Meet the Farmers

Kate and Mark

Kate and Mark started Prime Avenue Farm with a desire to connect to their communities, eat well, and have fun. Kate grew up on a hobby farm in southeastern Wisconsin and has a background in CSAs and market gardens, wood-fired pizza, homesteading and processing food in BULK quantities, along with spirituality, hospital chaplaincy, and retreat work. Although Mark loves cities, his long-standing dream to live in the country came true with the move to the farm. Mark has long been a lover of trees and building furniture so years ago he trained as a Tree Care Advisor at the University of MN. Once he had access to acreage, he eagerly planted more than 1,200 hardwood seedlings and roughly 70 fruit trees in the first three years at the farm. Mark has also recognized his unexpected enjoyment of tending sheep, and managing all things chainsaw and tractor related. Together with their daughter, a giant poodle, and a growing flock of Icelandic sheep, Kate and Mark welcome you to the farm.
